On December 11, 2023 the St. Petersburg Academic Philharmonic named after D. D. Shostakovich held an Gala Day dedicated to the 126th anniversary of the University

The Rector of the University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Sergei Fedorovich Bagnenko and the Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg Oleg Nikolaevich Ergashev performed a welcoming speech. Oleg Nikolaevich personally congratulated the University staff and read out a welcoming speech from the Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Dmitrievich Beglov. At the Gala Day, a traditional ceremony was held to present awards, established in honor of outstanding representatives of medical specialties. The evening ended with a festive concert by the MarimbaMix orchestra conducted by Stanislav Grigorenko. The winner of International competitions, soloist of the Mikhailovsky Theater Svetlana Monchak was singing for guests.
