On September 16-18th,2021 the XV International Symposium “Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation in Children and Adults. Gene and Cell Therapy " took place, organized by our University and the Foundation for Supporting the Development of Bone Marrow Transplantation.
Professor Dieter Helzer became Honorary Doctor of our University.
As part of the congress, a round table was held on modern problems of the organization and work of bone marrow donor registries. The participants considered the creation of a bone marrow donor registry in Russia in order to help children and adults in need.
The scientific program of the symposium consisted of several sections. Specialists in the field of oncology, hematology, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation discussed current approaches to the treatment and diagnosis of various lymphoprophylactic, myeloprophylactic diseases, innovations in gene and cell therapy, complications of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, etc. Sessions devoted to nursing, pediatrics, as well as psychological, medical and social rehabilitation were also held during this Congress.
