The meeting was organized within the framework of the Interregional Conference of Rectors of Universities of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan held in St. Petersburg. The guests were shown a video about our University dedicated to its 125th anniversary. Professor A.A. Potapchuk noted that just today the University is celebrating its 126th anniversary and mass events dedicated to this are being held on its territory. The guests showed a presentation and a film about the Bukhara State Medical Institute. Rector Teshaev noted that the institute recently received university status and is actively developing, arranging international cooperation agreements with foreign partners, as well as implementing double degree programs with many Russian universities. A new campus was recently opened in Bukhara, and the number of students this year has already reached ten thousand, which is the largest in Uzbekistan. Students are taught in Russian, Uzbek, English and Turkish.
After this, an excursion to the Anatomy Museum was organized, which was conducted by the leading translator of the Department of External Relations and Development V.A. Gavrilina.
It is planned to consider the possibility of extending the agreement expiring this year and implementing academic mobility of students and teaching staff.
