The visit featured an extensive programme of educational, academic and diplomatic engagements aimed at fostering Russian-Moroccan cooperation in medical education and research.
The programme commenced with a visit to one of the largest secondary schools in the city of Kenitra. Victoria Alexandrovna delivered a career guidance lecture to students in several groups. A presentation of Pavlov University followed, introducing its academic programmes and faculties, with particular emphasis on the Faculty of Medicine for International Students. The educational opportunities presented generated considerable interest among both the students and the teaching staff.
The delegation subsequently visited the Russian House in Morocco, where a meeting was held with Vladimir Petrovich Sokolov, Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Office in Morocco. Discussions focused on the prospects for allocating government-funded study places at Pavlov University to Moroccan citizens, opportunities to participate in and organise joint educational events, and key areas for further engagement identified during the visit.
An important part of the programme was a meeting at the Faculty of Medicine of Rabat International University with university leadership and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Morocco. The participants introduced their respective institutions, shared information on their principal areas of activity, and discussed promising avenues for academic and professional cooperation.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to pursue further discussions on the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, with the process to be coordinated by the foreign ministries of the Russian Federation and the Kingdom of Morocco.
Particular attention during the visit was devoted to strengthening professional ties in the field of otorhinolaryngology. Sergey Anatolyevich Karpishchenko held a meeting with the Head of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, during which the parties identified specific areas of mutual interest with potential for further collaboration.
A special place in the programme was reserved for a meeting organised by the Russian House with representatives of the Moroccan Association of Graduates of Soviet Universities and Institutes, led by its President, Mohamed Fakiri. The meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, with participants sharing fond memories of their years of study in the Soviet Union, reflecting on their professional journeys, and speaking about the lasting ties they have maintained with Russia. Several alumni expressed interest in potentially participating in events commemorating the 80th anniversary of Pavlov University's Faculty of Medicine for International Students.
The meeting was also attended by Moroccan medical doctors planning to undertake residency training at Pavlov University. Government-funded study places for these doctors were allocated through Rossotrudnichestvo, creating further opportunities to strengthen professional ties between the medical communities of the two countries.
In addition, discussions are currently under way regarding potential cooperation with one of the world's oldest universities, located in the city of Fez. This initiative could represent another important step towards expanding academic engagement between Russia and Morocco.
The visit marked a significant milestone in strengthening Pavlov University's international partnerships and advancing cooperation with Moroccan educational and medical institutions.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the Rossotrudnichestvo Office in Morocco for its support in facilitating the visit and for organising a comprehensive and wide-ranging programme of professional engagements.
