A delegation from Pavlov First Saint Petersburg State Medical University visited the Faculty of Medicine of the University of East Sarajevo in Foča, where a working meeting was held with the Dean and Vice-Dean of the Faculty.

During the discussions, the parties explored opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation, including preparations for the ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two universities, scheduled for autumn. Particular attention was given to the organization of joint scientific and educational activities planned for the upcoming academic year.

As part of the visit, two open lectures were delivered to doctors,teachers and students of the Faculty of Medicine by representatives of Pavlov University in English language.

The first lecture was given for doctors by Professor Sergey A. Karpishchenko, Vice-Rector for International Affairs and Chairman of ENT department with Clinic. Professor Karpishchenko presented the history and key achievements of the Department and shared several remarkable clinical cases from his professional practice in otorhinolaryngology, which attracted considerable interest from the audience.

The second lecture for students was delivered by Victoria A. Gavrilina , Vice-Dean for Medical Faculty of International Students. In her presentation, Ms. Gavrilina introduced Pavlov University, highlighting its educational opportunities and discussing the challenges and specific features of international student education in Russia. She also presented the activities of the Preparatory Department for Higher Education Programs, which she has supervised since its establishment.

The visit marked an important step toward strengthening academic ties between Russian and Balkan medical schools and further expanding international cooperation in education and research.

The delegation of Pavlov First Saint Petersburg State Medical University expresses its sincere gratitude to the leadership of the University of East Sarajevo for their warm hospitality and excellent organization of the visit.
